The Joy Wheel Collection

Associated for centuries with varied eastern religions, The Wheel of Joy, has long been a symbol of transformation or spiritual change.  The three components of the wheel—the hub, spokes, and rim – symbolize the three aspects of the Buddhist teachings on ethics, wisdom and concentration.  The central hub, which Heath and Landon have executed in onyx, carnelian or aventurine, represents ethical discipline, which centers and stabilizes the mind.  The sharp spokes, represent wisdom or discriminating awareness which cuts through ignorance.  The rim represents meditative concentration, which both encompasses and facilitates the motion of the wheel.  Diamonds accent the hub in homage to the wheel’s early Indian solar symbol of sovereignty, protection and creation.
